Lead QA Specialist - Strategy Games
At Twin Harbour Interactive, part of Stillfront Group, we strive to develop high-quality strategy games played by millions worldwide. In our eyes game development is a promise for fun and entertainment - that's what we live and aim for! Quality is our Strategy. We're looking for an exceptional Lead QA to set the standard for quality across our entire game portfolio and build the team that upholds it.
The Supremacy franchise is one of Stillfront Group's biggest and fastest growing IPs. Supremacy is being operated from Hamburg and Malta with location-bound game operations. This role offers the stability of a market leader combined with the creative agility of a specialized studio.
What You'll Do
As our Lead QA (Full-time, hybrid), you are more than a gatekeeper - you are the architect of our quality culture. You own the quality health and release strategy of one of our biggest live titles, WW3! You are the final stakeholder on product quality, partnering directly with the Head of QA as well as the Head of Product to ensure releases happen across Android, iOS, and web platforms, whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
Join us at the forefront of gaming technology, where you will leverage your expertise in AI tools like Claude to drive innovation and see the immediate impact of your work on our production pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Ownership for WW3: Define and drive the end-to-end test strategy, coverage standards, and QA processes for one of our massively multiplayer long term grand strategy games.
Bug Lifecycle Management: Lead triage and prioritization, ensuring critical defects are resolved and never fall through the cracks.
People Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of QA specialists, fostering their professional growth and high performance.
Effective Communication: Proactively identify and surface risks to leadership, holding the quality bar daily without interrupting release protocols/cadence.
Release Authority: Own the product release with confidence alongside the Producer, defining and utilizing KPIs (e.g. defect density, test coverage, escape rate, etc) to back your decisions.
AI & Innovation: Research and invest in emerging AI technologies to modernize testing workflows and keep the team at the cutting edge of game quality engineering.
Your Backstory
Experience: 5+ years in Manual Testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role (or People Manager or Team Lead) - you have built and grown teams before in the gaming industry – ideally in free-to-play, browser-based, or mobile strategy games.
Full-Stack QA: Proven track record across backend services and frontend UI, from early design concepts to final implementations.
Leadership: You communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and know how to align stakeholders around quality standards.
Language: Fluency in English is a must; additional languages are a plus.
Location: Seeking candidates based in or willing to relocate to Malta, with a valid work permit.
AI-Forward Mindset: Comfortable leveraging AI tools and methodologies to make QA processes faster, smarter, and more impactful.
